Dr. Fadel Na’eem, head of the orthopedic department, said he was performing surgery when a deafening blast sounded through the hospital. This July 1938 shows workers in the orange grove of the Na'an kibbutz. Deganya, which is still inhabited today, is considered Israel’s first kibbutz.
